Prayer is both a gift of grace and a determined response on our part. It always takes effort. The great figures of prayer of the Old Covenant before Christ, teach us that: prayer is a battle. A battle against whom? It really is against ourselves and against the evils of this world and the enemy who does all he can to turn people away from prayer and away from union with God. We pray as we live, because we live as we pray. The “spiritual battle” of the Christian’s new life is inseparable from the battle of prayer. In essence we are always called to the task and battle of Prayer.

Jesus himself desired the church to be a house of prayer and a place for reflection and care through prayer. Harbourview is to be no different. Over the next four weeks as we look at our times together in May we want to take a deeper look into our Harbourview Prayer and examine each of the actions that encompass what we believe God has called to pray and act into for the sake of His Kingdom work in Esquimalt and beyond. Please join us as we seek to have God break our hearts and open them; To fill our days with divine appointments and the privilege to be the hands and feet of Christ all over the place, with the aroma of Christ. Finally we allow God’s love to overflow in us and to compel us.

It is an honour to Love and Serve at Harbourview Church.
